Behind-the-Scenes Upper Floor Tours of the Sisters’ House
Date: Saturday, May 23, 2026
Tour Times: 10:00am and 12:00pm

Explore the unrestored second and third floors of the 1743 Sisters’ House during our special behind-the-scenes tours. This rare opportunity showcases much of the building’s original 18th-century design and materials, which were integral to its restoration in the mid-20th century.

  • Tour Details: Each tour lasts approximately one hour and is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets cannot be reserved in advance.
  • Age Requirement: Suitable for ages 12 and older.
  • Cost: $18.00/person for non-members, $14.00/person for Ephrata Cloister Associates members.
  • Important Notes: Group sizes are limited to 20 people per tour. Accessing the upper floors requires navigating a narrow, steep staircase. All participants must sign a waiver before the tour. An Upper Floor Tour ticket will also grant access to the regular guided tours that day at 11:00am, 1:00pm, and 2:15pm.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to step back in time and explore rarely seen spaces at Historic Ephrata Cloister!
