to volunteer in a beautiful, historic environment with friendly,
knowledgeable, and dedicated people. I have flexibility and truly
enjoy meeting a wide variety of curious visitors.”

University Students are welcome throughout the year to serve as spring, summer, and fall interns at the Historic Ephrata Cloister. We are delighted to customize your spring and fall internship experience based upon your academic and professional needs. Our summer internship is exploratory; students develop visitor services and public speaking skills through managing our front desk and providing regular tours. The summer experience culmulates in a project that serves an educational or collections need. Please email or call us at Ephrata1732@gmail.com; direct correspondence to Elizabeth Bertheaud, Site Administrator.
Corporate and Non Profit Organizations are welcome to contact us. We provide opportunities for corporate volunteer teams, return to work programs, and serve as a work site for adults with special needs. Please email or call us at Ephrata1732@gmail.com; direct correspondence to Rebecca Lawrence, Museum Program & Volunteer Facilitator.
Teens are encouraged to join our Student Historian program, an after school program that teaches interpretive skills, engages creative practices in arts, history, and theater, and assists with special events year round.
Teens 14 through age 18 are permitted to enroll for a $15 annual membership fee. For more, contact Rebecca Lawrence, email@example.com or download our Student Historian membership application.
Our volunteer program of the Ephrata Cloister Associates strives to abide by the mission of the Historic Ephrata Cloister, the Code of Ethics set forth by the American Alliance of Museums (2000), and the Standards and Best Practices of the American Association for Museum Volunteers (2012).
