    Research

Continuing research at the Ephrata Cloister offers new information and interpretation of this community. The site maintains a small research library that is open weekdays by appointment only. Limited genealogical materials are available in the site library. The staff is unable to answer genealogical queries, but can provide some advice on available sources. Appointments to access the library or collections should be made with the Curator by calling the historic site at (717) 733-6600.

The Ephrata Cloister maintains a rich collection of original artifacts including furniture, printed books, manuscripts, baskets and ceramics. Most artifacts, excluding paper items, are on exhibit in the historic buildings. Scholars wishing to study the artifacts should contact the Curator by calling the historic site (717) 733-6600.
