An Introduction to the Philosophical System of Jacob Boehme

Presented by Nick Siegert

Much of the beliefs and theology of Ephrata and its founder, Conrad Biessel comes from Radical German Pietism and the German mystic and theosophist, Jacob Boehme. Boehme was a Radical and original thinker – he comes out of the Lutheran tradition but then has his own enlightening mystical experiences which inform all of his writing. Boehme not only have a huge influence on Beissel and Ephrata, but also a number of other religious movements, German Philosophers, and thinkers. This presentation discusses this original thinker and his influence on the Ephrata Community.
