The Great Unforgettable Forgotten History Quiz at Ephrata Cloister

Presented by Michael Showalter and the Student Historians

It’s not quite the usual presentation for the Historic Ephrata Cloister’s monthly Virtual Ephrata Academy program. Instead, the program on April 8 combines fun and learning into The Great Unforgettable Forgotten History Quiz. This program challenges the audience to explore little-known facts from national, state, and local history and to share their own encounters with stories from the past. The Ephrata Cloister’s high school volunteers, the Student Historians, have developed the program inspired by their own love of trivia games and the opportunities to share history. The students are best known for presenting the annual Lantern Tours in the Christmas season. Now they are taking on new roles as game show hosts of the fun evening. The program is free, but registration is required.

The students have developed a list of about a dozen questions. After viewers have a chance to answer the questions, the students will provide expanded answers with more background on the topic. There are no losers in the quiz, only winners as everyone has a chance to learn something new.

This is a FREE program, but you must register using this link. You will receive an email with a link to use to join the Zoom call. This program will be recorded and put on our YouTube page to view at your leisure along with past Ephrata Academy presentations.
