Lantern Tours at Historic Ephrata Cloister
Experience history come to life during Lantern Tours, a unique theatrical event led by our talented Student Historians. These special tours, themed around historical stories, run from Friday, December 27, through Monday, December 30, with departures every half hour from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tours last approximately one hour, and group sizes are limited to 30 participants.
This year’s performance, Conscience and Truth: Conrad Weiser’s Ephrata of 1744, will explore Conrad Weiser’s involvement with the Ephrata Cloister and his eventual departure from the community in 1743. Participants will join Pennsylvania Governor George Thomas as he visits with members of the community in effort to better understand what Weiser experienced here and what may have been behind his eventual dissatisfaction. Intrigue awaits!
