Virtual Academy: Education at Ephrata

Date(s): 09/08/2022
Time: 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Education and the Ephrata Academy

The Ephrata Academy is a notable “new” building at the Historic Ephrata Cloister, only being built in 1837. The tradition of education at the Ephrata Cloister, however, stretched back to some of the oldest buildings on the site. Join Museum Educator Michael Showalter to explore the history of schooling at Ephrata, starting with the community’s founder, Conrad Beissel, and continuing through the Ephrata Academy in the mid-19th Century.

The free Virtual Ephrata Academy program happens on Thursday, September 8 at 7:00 p.m. Registration is required.  Please register at
