Thrown, Fired, and Glazed: The Redware Tradition from Pennsylvania and Beyond

Presented by Jennifer Royer

Redware pottery will be the next subject explored at The Virtual Ephrata Academy on May 13 as guest speaker Jennifer Royer presents “Thrown, Fired, and Glazed: The Redware Tradition from Pennsylvania and Beyond.” Royer, the curator of the special extended exhibit currently on view at the Landis Valley Village and Farm Museum, will discuss the highlights of the redware exhibit drawn from public and private collections from throughout the region. This Zoom presentation will take you on a virtual tour, giving more specifics about a variety of pieces on display from sgraffito plates to wacky figurines, useful roof tiles, and outstanding miniatures. Find out what piece is the curator’s favorite and what it symbolizes.

This is a FREE program, but you must register using this link. You will receive an email with a link to use to join the Zoom call. This program will be recorded and put on our YouTube page to view at your leisure along with past Ephrata Academy presentations.
